Welcome to my website! This is May—I’m so glad you’re here 🙂

I’ve been looking forward to launching this site for a while now. We’ve put a lot of work into it. I want it to be a portfolio of my work over the past seven years as May Hafford, but also a fun, interactive way for new followers to get to know me.

Posting videos and talking on camera doesn’t come naturally to me—I never quite know what to say. Writing, on the other hand, has always felt easier. Everything I want to communicate is already in my songs, and I don’t feel the need to overexplain. In the past, that used to be enough for an artist, but now it sometimes feels like I’m missing something because of that. A blog might seem old-fashioned, but it’s the most honest way for me to connect with my community. I hope you don’t mind a slower, more curated approach from me.

I’d also like to mention that there are two versions of this website. On the desktop version (which you can access from your computer), you’ll find a much more artistic and complete experience. While creating it, we took inspiration from early 2000s Flash websites—the internet used to feel so much more fun and creative back then. I dare you to find the hidden features and little surprises! We’ve worked really hard on the design and animations. The mobile version is simpler in comparison, but it still keeps that retro vibe. Still, I highly recommend checking out the desktop version 😉

I’m currently working on a live show. Soon I’ll be out there playing a bunch of unreleased May Hafford songs, along with new covers of some familiar tracks. I´m really proud of how it sounds, so don’t miss my gigs.

I’ll be using this section to share updates and thoughts. Whenever I post a new blog entry, I’ll let you know on my Instagram stories.
